WELCOME TO HOT SAUCE ACADEMY.png

I love seeing talent flourish. My journey from film executive to business coach was inspired by people like you.

People with amazing ideas and fresh new voices that aspire to create something meaningful by doing what they love to bring incredible stories to life.

So I got to work. I gathered up all my years of experience as a studio buyer and global sales agent, all the tried and true strategies I know work, and began building online courses for you.

HERE'S WHY: I KNOW YOU HAVE GREAT IDEAS. AND I BELIEVE IT'S IMPORTANT FOR YOUR LIFE'S WORK TO REFLECT YOU.

AND I KNOW THAT IF YOU HAD THE KNOWLEDGE AND CONTEXT TO BE ABLE TO ROOT YOUR IDEAS IN A SOLID BUSINESS CASE THAT SPOKE THE LANGUAGE EXECUTIVES LIKE TO HEAR THEN YOU'D BE ABLE TO SUPPORT A CAREER IN THE FILM INDUSTRY THAT'S MORE PROFITABLE, SUSTAINABLE AND AUTHENTIC.

THAT'S THE VISION I BELIEVE IN AND THE VISION I WANT TO HELP YOU START LIVING.

THE COURSE(S)

Welcome to the business school for the film business, where we look at things a bit differently.

Where we’re creative pragmatics who nerd out on box office figures, industry stats and good looking spreadsheets just as much as a strong story hook in a badass script.

Where we teach you about the film industry from the film executive’s perspective, from the perspective of the business behind the film business, and how to use this knowledge to leverage your creative ideas to build out
a successful career in film.

THE PITCH DECK WORKSHOP

A pitch deck is meant to serve as your business case for a prospective film project. It's the thing that helps potential collaborators, financiers, distributors, understand your vision. It's where and how you prove to executives that your project has strength.

In this four day live workshop I'll be walking you through each element of a pitch deck and weighing in on each section from the executive perspective. Combining daily classroom style lectures, group question and answer periods and virtual 1:1 sessions to help you build your own pitch deck, you'll be well-prepared for the final day of live pitching.

But there's a twist.

Every participant will build a pitch deck based on a film that's already been made. This allows the workshop to be truly accessible to all and if you do have a project on the go then choosing a film genre, comp, tone, similar to yours is a great exercise in creativity and understanding. With an even bigger twist, you also can't use any existing images or text from the film you choose.

Designed to give you a broad understanding of how to approach a Pitch Deck for any project, The Pitch Deck Workshop will leave you with the knowledge and context to create and pitch your project with confidence.

Enrolment now closed.

THE DISTRIBUTION LAB

Here’s the thing: there’s a reason why some films are bought and see solid distribution and others don’t. I’ve always said that it’s not called the film business for no reason. It’s a business. And because business is a longer word than film it’s going to take precedence.

The film business is a business guys, and these reasons for buying or not buying, investing or not investing, boil down to the simple economics of distribution. The place where the business of the film business goes down, where money invested makes its return.

Want to create ideas that executives see an audience for? Look at where the distribution numbers are.

In this six-week course I’m going to walk you through the basics of film distribution, then get wild and throw you in to the deep end of the so called economic roots beneath the distribution ground.

By the end, you’ll have a complete picture of the film distribution landscape and walk away with a clear understanding of all the moving parts of the business.

So grab your notebook and get ready to learn where the numbers come from, what influences them and how to use them to make that sauce hot.

GREAT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

Tania comes well prepared, offers candid insight into working with sales agents, what the expectations should be and what the producers need to provide.  She is warm, engaging and very insightful and generous with her advice on specific projects. Her TAP sessions received excellent feedback from the participants,  so much so that we asked her to return the next year to the programme – a true testament to her value!
